Association management company SmithBucklin recently launched Board Forward, a content source specifically designed for volunteer board members and available free of charge.
The new resource features a monthly e-newsletter and Web site that will provide relevant news, information and guidance to help volunteer board members enhance the performance of their boards and organizations.
“At SmithBucklin, we understand the challenges volunteer boards face every day,” said SmithBucklin President and CEO Henry Givray.
He added, “Our client organizations’ volunteer leaders have said there is a need for this kind of content, so we view Board Forward as a way to give back to the association community and reinforce our passionate commitment to help associations achieve their missions.”
Board Forward will provide thought-provoking, relevant and useful content from a board-level perspective on topics such as governance; board culture, roles and structure; international boards; leadership; fiduciary responsibility; committee structures; leading practices for boards; mergers and acquisitions; board orientation; board succession; diversity; legal responsibility and bylaws; antitrust issues; and strategic planning, according to SmithBucklin offcials.
Content will include articles featuring subject-matter experts, abstracts of stories from leading publications, interviews with volunteer board members, and case studies, tips and advice.
Anyone can register for the monthly e-newsletter by visiting boardforward.com.
“SmithBucklin has been serving volunteer boards for more than 60 years. We highly respect and admire those who donate their time and expertise to serve their associations,” said John Stoiber, executive vice president and CEO of SmithBucklin’s Business Trade Industry Practice.
He added, “Our intention is for Board Forward to be an invaluable resource for volunteers making significant contributions to their organization members, industries and professions.”
